After each picking up three losses through around the first half of the season, both Williamson and Holley entered sectional play on fire, with Williamson winning its past eight games and Holley its last seven. One winning streak will have to come to an end Friday night, when the two top seeds will meet for the C1 title. Here’s the breakdown:
No. 2 seed WILLIAMSON MARAUDERS (15-3-0/Wayne County)

How they arrived here: Williamson began its postseason play with a 9-0 win over No. 15 seed Sodus in the opening round before picking up 7-1 win over No. 10 seed York/Pavilion and a 4-1 victory over third-seeded Oakfield-Alabama/Elba on its path to clinching a spot in the finals. Holley earned a bye, and took down No. 8 seed Red Creek 4-0 in the quarterfinals. A 7-0 win over No. 4 seed Bloomfield got Holley into the championship.

Trends: Williamson hasn’t lost a game since September and has outscored opponents 49-2 in that eight-game stretch. After starting 3-2, Holley has only lost once in its last 13 games and is outscoring opponents 72-7 during that period.
Players to watch for Williamson: Elizabeth Brandt Sr. Forward 27 goals and 12 assists, Anna Henner Sr. Midfielder 24 goals and nine assists, Lauren Schmeelk So. Forward 17 goals and 12 assists.
Players to watch for Holley: Samantha Bates Sr. Midfielder 25 goals and 10 assists, Jailyn Bishop Sr. Midfielder 11 goals and 13 assists, Layne Walker Sr. Goalkeeper 1,155 minutes in goal and 26 saves.

History 101: Williamson is attempting to return to the top of Class C1 for the first time since 2019, with a win securing its eighth sectional title in program history. A win for Holley would be the Hawks’ third sectional title, and its first since 1994.
What’s next: The winner will advance to the Class regional qualifier against either Byron Bergen or Keshequa.
