Northstar Christian and Fillmore each cruised through the regular season with goal differentials of at least 78 per team. Both dominant squads will look to keep up the good play when the two meet to decide the Class D title. Here’s the preview:

How they arrived here: After getting a bye in the first round, Northstar Christian got past No. 10 seed Notre Dame Batavia with a 1-0 win before dispatching No. 3 seed Genesee Valley-Belfast 3-0 in the semifinals. Fillmore also had a bye, and took down No. 8 seed Finney 9-0 and No. 5 seed Marion 3-0 on their way to the championship game.

Trends: Northstar Christian has won 13 of its last 14 games, holding opposing teams to four goals during that stretch. Fillmore has scored five or more goals in seven of its last nine games.

History 101: Northstar Christian is looking to repeat as champions after winning the Section V D1 championship a year ago, and its fourth championship in team history. Fillmore is looking to win its third championship since 2019 and sixth overall.
What’s next: The winner will advance to play the Class D representative from Section VI in the NYS quarterfinals.
Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday.
