MENDON, N.Y. — Harley Allendale-Columbia (HAC) defeated Lewiston-Porter (VI), 5-0 in the New York State Division 2 Far West Regionals, Saturday at the Mendon Racquet Club. Sophia Carling, Elie Swan, and Chloe Terio won straight-set decisions at first, second and third singles, as did first doubles’ partners Erica Liu and Sybille Michel. The only match requiring more than two sets was Brynn McHenry and Izzy Goldstein who rallied to win second doubles 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(7). With the victory, HAC continues its winning streak and advances to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) team semifinals.
In Division 1, Williamsville East defeated Pittsford Mendon 5-2. Mendon claimed first singles as Omika Patel defeated Sophie Wang 6-2, 6-1. Mendon’s Aiza Ahmed defeated Megha Pendyala in third singles, 6-1,6-1.
Harley Allendale-Columbia advances to the NYSPHSAA state team semifinals to be played at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. on November 3rd.
