In Saturday morning’s matchup, Noah Gressell started and tossed four shutout innings. Gressell struck out five, including back-to-back strikeout in the fourth inning, to end his outing. The Bombers’ offense got going early, putting two runs across in the second inning. Gerald Hitchcock and Aidan Caselli both worked walks early in the inning and came around to score with Brody Swan lacing a single up the middle. Seven different Bombers collected base knocks. Charlie Underhill led the balanced attack with a two-out RBI double in the sixth, bringing in Sam Nick. George Wilmot and Grant Distaffen also had hits in the win. Caselli closed things out on the mound, facing one over the minimum in the seventh.

The Bucs pushed across three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Oscar Roger jumped on a first pitch offering to get on base, followed by a pair of walks from Ryan Galle and Brody Kwoka. Brayden Delly cleared the bases with a three-run double into the left-center gap. Nathan Scozzaro finished 2-for-3 at the plate while Kevin Schmitt and Maddox Stoughton each had a hit apiece. Stoughton also walked twice. Drew Johnson worked a pair of base on balls.

Alan Plummer hurled three no-hit innings of relief work to stymie the A’s offense. The right-hander struck out five batters while only allowing two baserunners, and he chipped in at the plate with a double in a decisive four-run fourth inning. Nicholas DiFrancesca started the inning with a first-pitch single, followed by Plummer’s double to centerfield. Mason Davey and Jacob Sova each reached base, before Jared Swift barreled up a pitch to bring in two runners to give the Amazins a 7-2 lead.

Swift finished his day 2-for-2, while Sova reached base in all three of his at-bats. Davey and DiFrancesca scored two runs apiece. Xander Rogers started and struck out three over three innings of work in the win.For the A’s, Ryan Grasley started on the bump, allowing just one hit. Grasley struck out seven batters in three innings of work. At the plate, Penfield’s Corey Weiss tallied an RBI single. Matt Scibienski singled and scored. Robbie Langdon and Grady Rogers also crossed home.

Saturday’s nightcap ended in a tie, with the Sawk rallying in the bottom of the seventh to score three on the back of Derrick Allen’s two-run double. With Pale Hose up three runs and one out in the inning, the Sawx strung together three consecutive baserunners, with Ashton Kwoka, Joshua Winter, and Jace Crawford each finding a different way on base. Joseph Presutti jumped on a first pitch to bring Kwoka in on a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to two. Down to their last two strikes, Allen took a pitch the other way to clear the bases and tie the game at six.

For the Sawx, Crawford went 2-for-3 in the leadoff spot, while Presutti, Allen, and Gentzke each collected a hit. On the flip side, Patrick Altpeter, Mathew Gross, and Ian Schmeer each finished with two hits for the Pale Hose.

Gross finished with four RBI including a double in the fifth that brought home Altpeter and Ethan Light to give the Pale Hose a 6-2 lead. Altpeter scored two runs. Jamison Riley also crossed home. On the mound, Michael Calogero started and struck out five over three innings, while throwing an efficient 31 of his 48 pitches for strikes.
