Benjamin Horvath connected on a sacrifice fly in the sixth, scoring Cameron Rider as the Sawx utilized a four-run sixth frame to win a back-and-forth contest that saw five lead changes against the Pale Hose. Kayden Yapjoco reached to lead off, then three-straight walks to Rider, Owen Cuba and Ashton Kwoka knotted the game up at five before the Horvath RBI. Jace Crawford followed Horvath with a single that scored Owen Cuba, then Kwoka trotted home on a passed ball to end the scoring in the sixth for the Sawx.
Horvath kicked off the scoring in the first with a leadoff double, then came home to score. The Pale Hose returned the favor in the bottom half with an RBI groundout by Martin MacConnell. Jacob Sova roped a three-bagger in the bottom in the second, scoring Ian Schmeer and putting the Pale Hose up one.
Evan Cuba tied the game up at two in the following frame with a one-out double. Horvath trotted home on the two-bagger. Max Angle drove in two later in the frame, putting the Sawx up 4-2. Gabriel Rivera tied the game up for the Pale Hose in the fifth, driving home Sova and Joe Guisto. MacConnell drove home Brady Prebalick in the next at-bat to give the Pale Hose the lead, setting up the four-run sixth for the Sawx. Owen Cuba hurled two no-hit innings in relief to pick up the win, striking out one. Horvath finished 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored to lead the Sawx. Rider and Derrick Allen went 1-for-2. Allen started and struck out five over three innings of work. For the Pale Hose, Sova went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored to lead the hit column. Guisto went 1-for-2 and trotted home once. Rivera and MacConnell both brought home two runs. Ethan Light tallied a single.

AMAZINS (1-0) 4 (six innings)
Xander Rogers hurled three frames on the mound, striking out five as the Amazins’ pitching staff combined for a daylight shortened no-hitter to open up their season. Jacob Sova followed with two innings, allowing an unearned run while fanning three, before Alan Plummer finished with one inning at the belt and left two runners stranded.
Joshua Pearson opened the scoring in the fifth for the A’s with a sacrifice fly. Plummer returned the favor in the bottom half of the frame, scoring Sova to knot the game up at one. Evan Cuba trotted home on a passed ball, putting the Amazins up 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth. Mason Davey followed with a two-run single in the following at-bat. Corey Weiss went four innings for the A’s, striking out eight while only allowing one hit. After a leadoff single by Jared Swift, Weiss retired 12 straight and did not allow a ball to leave the infield in that span.
Rogers and Weiss combined for 11 strikeouts in the first three frames. Swift went 2-for-3 with a run scored to lead the hit column for the Amazins.
