The Rochester Red Wings dropped their third straight to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Thursday night, 6-5, despite coming back from a five-run deficit.
Down 5-0 after three innings, the Red Wings scored five to tie up the game before falling behind for good on a Carlos Narvaez double in the bottom of the seventh.

Designated hitter Matt Adams went 3-for-4 in the loss, while reliever Luis Reyes allowed two hits in three innings of relief.
The current losing streak is the longest for the Red Wings since they dropped three straight to the Omaha Storm Chasers on June 21 through 23.
Left-hander Alex Troop made his first AAA appearance of the season for Rochester, allowing four five runs in three innings of work, four of them earned. The lone unearned run came first, when Franchy Cordero scored with one out in the second on an error by Jake Noll to move Scranton ahead, 1-0. That error, one of three by the Red Wings on the night, was followed by a two-run single by Oswald Peraza to make the score 3-0. The RailRiders extended their lead in the third on a leadoff home run by Andres Chaparro to move the score to 4-0 and plated a fifth run later in the inning when Carlos Narvaez scored on a double play.
Rochester’s comeback began in the fourth, when right-fielder Travis Blankenhorn, celebrating his 27th birthday, hit a solo shot to right-center field for his 16th home run of the season to put the Wings on the board, 5-1. The Wings’ second run also came through a solo home run, by Erick Mejia in the fifth to cut Scranton’s lead to 5-2.
The Red Wings tied it up in the top of the seventh, as left fielder Darren Baker singled in Jack Dunn with one out to close the gap to 5-3. Luis Garcia, playing his first game of the season for the Red Wings after being optioned down by Washington, followed with a single of his own to drive in Erick Mejia. After Blankenhorn walked to load the bases, Baker scored the tying run when Jake Noll hit into a forceout.
Scranton moved ahead for good the next inning on Narvaez’s one-out double for the 6-5 win.
The RailRiders’ Aaron McGarity earned the win in relief to move to 5-2, while Luis Cessa– facing his old organization in the Yankees- fell to 0-3 with the loss.
Rochester (15-15 in the second half, 49-54 overall, 3.5 games back of league leaders) continues its series in Scranton (15-13 in the second half, 49-53 overall, 2.5 games back) on Friday at 6:35 p.m. The pitching matchup has yet to be announced.
