Webster Thomas, Honeoye Falls-Lima to determine Class A Far West Regional spot

One squad is looking to avenge its last regional qualifier defeat in 2009. Another is looking to keep its Cinderella run alive. Webster Thomas and Honeoye Falls-Lima match up to determine who advances to the Class A Far West Regional Tuesday at Eastridge High School. Here’s the breakdown:

No. 6 Honeoye Falls-Lima beat No. 3 School of the Arts in the quarters and downed No. 2 Pittsford Sutherland in the semi-final to advance and defeat Our Lady of Mercy in the sectional final.

History 101: Webster Thomas is looking to avenge its last Far West Regional qualifier defeat in 2009. The Titans just avenged a sectional final loss last year to crosstown rival, Webster Schroeder. Honeoye Falls-Lima is fresh off its third sectional title in four seasons (2020 canceled due to the pandemic). The Cougars advanced to the Far West Regional in 2019 but fell to the eventual state champion, Williamsville East.
