Tempo and Trends: Irondequoit is averaging 7.55 runs per game and is allowing 3.05. The Eagles enter Saturday’s contest having won five in a row and 11 of their last 12. Webster Thomas averages 6.5 runs per game and allows 5.14. The Titans have won six straight.
What’s at Stake: A spot in the NYS Far West regional qualifier against the winner of Honeoye Falls-Lima and Our Lady of Mercy.
History 101: Irondequoit is looking for its first sectional championship since 1994. The Eagles fell in the 2022 Section V quarterfinals to Brighton and have advanced past the quarterfinals for the first time since 2019. Webster Thomas is looking to win its fifth sectional title and first since 2009. Last year, the Titans fell to the eventual NYS champion Webster Schroeder 7-0 and are looking to avenge that defeat.
