The Rochester Red Wings stormed back in the top of the ninth courtesy of a three-run Nomar Mazara home run as they won, 7-6, for their third straight victory over the Toledo Mud Hens. The one-out home run, the right fielder’s third of the season for the Wings and second in as many games, provided Rochester’s only lead of the game- and the only one they needed.

Toledo hitters jumped on Wings starter Joan Adon early, notching a four-run inning in the bottom of the first for the early 4-0 lead. Rochester began the comeback in the next half-inning, as Mazara walked and then moved to second on a wild pitch. Catcher Drew Millas reached on an error, allowing Mazara to score from second to narrow Toledo’s lead to 4-1.
Two innings later, the Red Wings drew closer, 4-3, when second baseman Darren Baker hit a two-run, two-out double on a sharper grounder that bounced funny off the first-base bag. Designated hitter Franmil Reyes tied it up an inning later, 4-4, with a single up the middle to score left fielder Jake Alu.
Toledo pulled ahead with RBI, 6-4, with singles in the fifth and eighth. Third baseman Carter Kieboom walked to lead off the top of the ninth against Toledo reliever Brendan White. Alu doubled to put both men into scoring position before Mazara homered later in the inning to put the Red Wings ahead.
Right-hander Amos Willingham earned his first Red Wings win after pitching the eighth, while righty Tyler Danish notched his third save of the year with a scoreless ninth.
The Red Wings, now 20-26, continue their series at Toledo on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 P.M., with Cory Abbott the probable starter for Rochester.
