Imagine RIT Tuesday Baseball Wrap: East’s Rodriguez is perfect; Notre Dame Batavia pitching staff continues scoreless streak

PITTSFORD MENDON (2-4) 4
Ryan Lewin drove in Lucas Leone and Caleb Wilson on a single in the third as Aquinas snapped a two-game skid. Leone reached via a walk and Wilson ripped a single up the middle to set the table for Aquinas. Lewin finished 2-for-4 and had a double in the fifth. Michael Calogero reached in all three plate appearances with two singles, including an RBI single in the fifth that padded the lead, as well as drawing a walk. Tre Walker went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Wilson hurled 3.2 shutout innings of relief, fanning four and allowing three hits and picked up the win. After allowing a hit after entering the game, Wilson did not allow a ball to reach the outfield until two outs in the sixth. Jake Wiepert tallied a single. For Mendon, James Termine and Cam Barbulean both went 2-for-4. Barbulean drove in two on a single in the second. Jaden Singer and Eli Charatz both roped singles. Brandon Trott had an RBI two-bagger in the third for the Vikings. Noah Lerner-Morelle had an RBI single in the fourth. Carter Grinnell crossed home twice.

EDISON (5-2) 7
SOTA (4-3) 14
Dale Janezic finished 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored for SOTA squad that pulled away from a 6-5 game to win for the third time in the past four games. Gio Petrone went 2-for-3 with a double in the win. Bennie Laver was 2-for-4, and Henry Hawkinson went 2-for-2 with two walks. Hawkinson fanned five over 2.2 scoreless innings of relief work. Jack Wingert started and struck out three over four innings of work. At the plate, Wingert also connected on a pair of hits. Edison’s David Reinosa was 2-for-3 with a double, walk and two runs scored.

MONROE (2-4) 0
EAST (8-2) 15 (five innings)
Omar Rodriguez struck out 11 and threw a perfect game to lead East. The sophomore did not allow a ball out of the infield in the win. Miguel Matos tripled and scored twice while teammate Alberto Cisnero doubled and crossed home. Emille Diaz and Luis Pineda each had a run-scoring single for the Eagles which won for the fifth time in the past six games.

NORTHSTAR CHRISTIAN (4-2) 14
BISHOP KEARNEY/ROCHESTER PREP/ARCHANGEL (3-3) 0 (five innings)
Dom Kurmis struck out eight and allowed two hits and one walk to lead Northstar. The senior right-hander retired 14 of the last 15 batters he faced including seven straight to close the game. Kurmis also walked twice and scored twice. AJ Mitchell and Parker Seeley both finished 2-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored to lead the offense. Mitchell doubled and came home in a five-run third when Northstar sent nine to the plate and took a commanding lead. Andrew Eschner singled twice in the win and reached base all four times he came to the plate. Mikey Bartkowski was 2-for-2 with a double for Bishop Kearney/Rochester Prep/Archangel.

NEWARK (1-8) 1
MYNDERSE (3-4) 14 (5 innings)
Sophomore Alan Plummer pitched a complete game, giving up two hits and fanning 10. Max Santana, Brody Herron and Robert Meeks all had doubles and drove in runs. Nico Franzone went 2-for-3 with two runs driven in. Jake Prayne went a perfect 4-for-4, scoring two runs and had two RBI. Jaydan Ryrko and Carson Kaih had RBI singles for Mynderse. Ethan King and Nick Quill also tallied singles. For Newark, Nolan Rice tallied an RBI single.

MIDLAKES (3-3) 3
WATERLOO (2-7) 1
Kyle Kumkey went the distance allowing one run on one hit and striking out seven for Midlakes. Alexander Rogers pitched for Waterloo and matched Kumkey for most of the game, allowing three unearned runs and striking out three. Brady Day went 2-for-4 with a run scored for Midlakes. Jackson Nurse had a hit and crossed home once. On the offensive side for Waterloo, Dylan Bienvenue had a hit and an RBI.

SOUTH SENECA/ROMULUS (2-3) 1
HAC (2-4) 12 (5 innings)
Thomas Riveros went 3-for-4 with four RBI, including a two-run scoring double in the third to lead HAC to its second consecutive win. Salvatore Timpani followed up by going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and driving in two. Timpani also pitched all five innings, allowing one hit and an unearned run, while fanning 10. Sean Thody drew two walks, had an RBI single in the fourth and scored three runs for the Wolves. Ryan Curwin and Oscar Bernfield both tallied hits. Nolan Redhead and Enoch Bernfield dove in one apiece. Anson Man had a pinch-hit single. For South Seneca/Romulus, Mike Kaufman had the lone hit.

YORK (4-4) 9 (8 innings)
KESHEQUA (1-8) 7
Joe Bauer and Ryan Brady both went 3-for-3 to lead York. Bauer had a double and scored three runs, while Brady roped three singles and drove in three. Jake Pangrazio hurled five innings allowing two runs and fanning 11. Pangrazio also added a hit at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored. Keshequa’s Nate Thayer struck out 10 and allowed five runs (two earned) over six innings of work. Thayer also went 2-for-5 at the plate with two RBI.  Nolan Therrien was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Jake Szijarto had two hits, two stolen bases, two runs scored and an RBI.

DANSVILLE (3-3) 8
HORNELL (5-2) 9
Charlie Oyer walked it off with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh. Nic Fisher went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, alongside scoring two runs for Dansville.

AVON (5-1) 10
GENESEO (5-3) 1
Michael Rowland ripped an RBI triple in the top of the first, driving home Christopher Kashorek as Avon took an early lead and never looked back. Kashorek and Rowland both finished going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and drove in one. Hudson Volpe and Trevor Stroud both went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Richie Brice hurled a complete game allowing one run on four hits while fanning 13. Ryan Whitney went 2-for-3 with an RBI triple of his own to lead Geneseo.

HAVERLING (3-3) 7
WAYLAND-COHOCTON (8-1) 11
Tony Schirmer went 2-for-4 including an RBI as Wayland-Cohocton won its fifth straight. Schirmer pitched the final three innings, allowing two hits while striking out three. Matt Feinman had a single and an RBI, as well as swiping five bags. Gauge Thomas led Haverling, going 3-for-5 with two RBI.

NOTRE DAME BATAVIA (7-0) 10
Ryan Fitzpatrick hurled a five-inning no-hitter as Notre Dame Batavia pitchers increased their scoreless streak to 25 innings in a row. Fighting Irish hurlers recorded a fourth straight shutout and have yet to allow an earned run this season. Fitzpatrick struck out nine and did not allow a walk. Jordan Welker had a two-run double alongside scoring three runs. Chase Cummings drove in two with a single. Hayden Groff finished 2-for-2 with a two-bagger, a single and scored three runs. Jimmy Fanara went 2-for-3 with a double and a three-bagger.

Jed Bodine and Nate Aubin both finished a perfect 3-for-3 to lead Sodus. Bodine drove in three and had two doubles, including a two-RBI double in the fourth. Aubin knocked in one and scored two of his own. Jacob Laird went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Evan Laird, Braydn Orbaker and Braeden Tuper combined to throw a one-hitter and combined for five strikeouts. Logan Bulman and Garrett Barron had back-to-back RBI singles in the fourth, part of a seven-run frame. Jordan Orrange Paton soaked up two hit-by-pitches and had a hit to round out the hit column for the Spartans. Reegan Fenn had the lone hit for Marion.

NORTH ROSE-WOLCOTT (6-2) 13
Nick Gilbert went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI to lead North Rose-Wolcott to its second straight victory and third of its last fourth. AJ Anthony drove in four and went 2-for-4. Kaden Milliman had hits in all three of his at-bats and drove in two. Liam VanFleet finished 2-for-4 with three runs driven in. Lucien Macro earned the win for the Cougars, going five innings allowing two runs and whiffing six.

Mitchell Ward uncorked a two-run triple in the top of the ninth to give Fillmore the lead in extras. After a leadoff single by Nolan Krzeminski, followed by Zach Sisson reaching via an error, Ward drove them both in with the clutch three-bagger. Ward pitched the two extra-innings, allowing one hit and finished the bottom of the ninth with a perfect inning. Krzeminski finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Damon Potter pitched the bulk of the game out of the bullpen, throwing six one-hit innings. Ward added a single in one of his other two at-bats. Aiden Wagner went 2-for-4. Brent Zubikowski had a hit and an RBI in the fifth. James Hillman tallied a hit. For Cuba-Rushford, Sam Grover went 2-for-3, driving in two including being hit-by-pitch in the first. Jacob Smith, Jack Frank and Landen Schappacher all tallied hits and worked walks for the Rebels. Eli Sleggs started and threw 6.2 innings for Cuba-Rushford, allowing three runs on three hits and whiffing five.

GENESEE VALLEY-BELFAST (2-6) 0
BOLIVAR-RICHBURG (7-3) 11
Landon Barkley and Trey Buchholz combined on a no-hitter, and Bolivar-Richburg won its fifth straight game. Barkley started, struck out six and allowed one walk over four innings of work. Buchholz struck out two and retired all three batters he faced in a clean inning of relief work. Reiss Gaines doubled, homered, drove in three runs and scored two more to pace an offense which pushed across five runs in the third inning and again in the fourth. Aydin Sisson finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Hitting leadoff, Buchholz was 2-for-2 with a walk and three runs scored. Barkley doubled, walked, drove in a run and scored a run. Caden Allen walked three times and scored twice. James Margeson drove in a run and scored another. Evan Pinney added an RBI.
