VICTOR, N.Y. — After falling behind 7-0 to start the game, No. 2 Canandaigua proceeded to score the next 27 points and went on for a 63-40 victory over No. 11 Irondequoit in Class A action, Monday night from Victor High School.
Unable to connect from the outside early in the contest, the Braves found success down low with Kyleigh Chapman scoring the first five points and Mya Herman the next seven to propel the Braves on their 27-0 run to end the first and begin the second quarters.

Canandaigua (18-5) turned up the pressure on defense to force multiple turnovers and create difficult shot opportunities for Irondequoit. Canandaigua also found its range from the three-point arc, making 4-of-6 triples before the half. The Braves went into the break with a 36-17 advantage.
The third quarter started with each team trading baskets over a few possessions but Canandaigua ended the quarter on a 13-2 run effectively putting the game out of reach. Canandaigua scored a number of points on uncontested layups off missed shots Irondequoit as Herman accounted for 10 of her game-high 25 points in the third stanza.
Irondequoit outscored Canandaigua 12-3 in the fourth quarter for the final margin.
For Canandaigua, Chapman scored 18 points and grabbed 18 rebounds (3rd highest in Canandaigua GBB history). Eily Hubler had 11 points. Julia Geitner (4), Liz Schorr (2), Ava Read (2) and Callie Keys (1) also scored for the Braves.
Canandaigua will face top-seeded Pittsford Sutherland in Saturday’s Class A final.
Aubrey Smith led Irondequoit (10-13) with 14 points including five in the opening 7-0 run. Maeve Brennan (8), Ella Brennan (6), Evin Terzioglu (5), Maddie Thore (5) and Arianna Santos (2) also scored for the Eagles.
