The 2023 Section V Class D1 Boys’ bracket is set with three teams each from Finger Lakes West and Genesee Region along with two from Allegany County and one squad apiece from Livingston County Athletic Association and Steuben County. Two games are set to tipoff on Wednesday and the finalists will meet on March 4th at Blue Cross Arena.
Top-seeded Avoca/Prattsburgh is seeking its third-consecutive Class D1 title. Avoca and Prattsburgh both won sectional titles in 2020 before combining programs. No.2 Notre Dame-Batavia enters the bracket one year after capturing the Class D2 crown, its eighth in program history. No.5 Keshequa, whose only sectional championship came in 1994, has won its last five games all by double digits, winning those games by an average of 18.6 points. Here’s the breakdown:
