The 2023 Section V Class D2 Girls’ bracket is set with four teams competing out of Allegany County, three from the Private-Parochial League, two from Steuben County and one squad from Finger Lakes West. The tournament begins with four games on Wednesday and the finalists will meet on March 3rd.
Top-seeded Andover/Whitesville is seeking to repeat as Class D2 champions, which would be its second sectional title as a joint program. No. 2 Northstar Christian, who was upset in the quarterfinals of last year’s tournament, is aiming for its first sectional title in program history. Third-seeded C.G. Finney has won 12 out of its 13 games by double digits, including two wins over Northstar by scores of 59-30 and 46-36 back on December 16th and January 13th. Here’s the breakdown:
