The 2023 Section V Class C1 Girls’ bracket features four teams from both the Genesee Region and Wayne County, three Livingston County squads, two clubs from both the Finger Lakes West and Steuben County divisions and one more from the Private-Parochial league. The tournament opens with first-round games on Wednesday night and the finalists will meet on March 4th to decide the championship.
East Rochester, the reigning champion, is seeking its third consecutive sectional title. Canisteo-Greenwood, the top seed, is looking for its third sectional title in program history and first since 1988 when the Redskins bookended back-to-back class D championships. Avon, the No. 9 seed, enters postseason play with seven wins in its last nine games, including a victory over Geneseo. Here’s the breakdown:
