Ethan Muroski scored twice to help Penfield advance to the sectionals quarterfinals. Muroski found the back of the net in the first and second periods. Mason Maksymiu and Thomas Obstarczyk assisted on both of Muroski’s goals. Sean Walsh and Reece Holenbeck tallied a goal and an assist for the Patriots. Corey Weiss also found the back of the net. Angelo Latore tallied an assist. Ryan Brown, Lucas Springer, and Collin Trapiss all scored a goal and tallied an assist for the WFL Panthers. Penfield advances to take on number four seed Pittsford in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Brighton/HFL’s two second-period goals helped them advance to the Class A quarterfinals. Kyle Reese scored just over three minutes into the middle period to get the Bruins on the board. Shawn Oelheim had the lone assist on the goal. Braydn Trybuskiewicz extended Brighton/HFL’s lead with just over two minutes remaining in the period. Oelheim and Peter Burslem assisted on the late second-period tally. Ryan Hurwitz tallied 16 saves for the Bruins. Tanner Smith scored the lone Hilton goal unassisted shortly after the Bruins took the 2-0 lead. Aiden Hill stopped 39 of 41 shots he faced in net. Brighton/HFL will advance to take on number three seed Batavia Notre Dame on Thursday.

NO. 7 GREECE STORM (11-10-0) 2 OT
Axel Black scored twice including the overtime game-winning goal for the Fairport Red Raiders to advance to the quarterfinals. Black tied the game at one in the first period with assists from Ryan Alexander and Matt Oberer. Alex Goldan gave the Red Raiders the lead about 10 and a half minutes into the third period. Jack Bush assisted on the go-ahead goal. Black’s game-winner came 3:42 into overtime with assists from Alexander and Max Toscano. Aidan Candalari scored a goal and tallied an assist for the Greece Storm. Spencer Griffin scored the first Storm goal in the first period with an assist from Candalari and Josh Kimble. Candalari tied the game with 1:20 left in regulation with an assist from Kimble. Fairport will take on the defending sectional champions in the number two seed Victor Blue Devils.

NO . 8 PORTSIDE ROYALS (8-11-2) 1
Two power play goals propelled Spartan Hockey to a class A quarterfinals appearance. Ayden Zugnoni scored the first power play goal late in the first period unassisted. Mikey Valent scored the other power play goal early in the second period unassisted. Valent added his second goal of the night with an unassisted empty net goal to seal the victory for the Spartans. Keegan Waldo stopped 36 of the 37 shots he faced in net. Zachary Neu scored the lone Portside goal on the power play 32 seconds into the third period with an assist from Joseph Bagnato. Liam Bischoping made 28 saves for the Royals. Spartan Hockey will advance to take on top-seeded McQuaid on Thursday.
