Rochester Colonial Tuesday Girls’ Soccer Wrap: Gananda and Byron-Bergen stay undefeated; Yartym leads Haverling

CLASS B1

No. 4 LIVONIA (8-7-3) 0
No. 1 PALMYRA-MACEDON (16-1-1) 1
Maya Ikewood scored the lone goal in the 77th minute to send Palmyra-Macedon to the Class B1 title game with a victory over Livonia. Georgia Wirth assisted on Ikewood’s goal. The Red Raiders have won eight straight contests. Palmyra-Macedon will face No. 6 Aquinas for the sectional title.

No. 6 AQUINAS (8-8-2) 3
No. 2 BATAVIA (11-3-4) 0
Emily Silverstein scored twice to send Aquinas to the Class B1 sectional finals. Silverstein scored in the 12th and 66th minute. Mya Kotsch scored a goal and tallied an assist for the Li’l Irish. Jessica Miller recorded an assist. Kate Sproul registered a six-save shutout. Aquinas will take on top-seeded Palmyra-Macedon in the finals.

CLASS B2

No. 5 LEROY (8-10-0) 1
No. 1 HAVERLING (18-0-0) 4
Ella Yartym led the Haverling Rams to the Class B2 sectional finals with a victory over LeRoy. Yartym scored twice and assisted on one of the Rams’ goals. Lydia Dickson and Keegan Smith scored the other two goals. Gaia Stefanoni tallied two assists. Natalie Krelie picked an assist. Haverling will meet No. 2 Hornell in the Class B2 finals.

No. 3 MYNDERSE (11-5-2) 2
No. 2 HORNELL (15-3-0) 3
Hornell will take on top-seeded Haverling to decide the Class B2 sectional final.

CLASS C1

No. 4 MARCUS WHITMAN (15-3-1) 0
No. 1 GANANDA (19-0-0) 2
Lyndsey Valletta registered a two-save shutout to keep Gananda’s undefeated season alive and send the Blue Panthers to the Class C1 finals. Isabella Hoffmann scored the first goal with an assist from Natalia Martyniuk. Ella Lathrop scored the other goal with an assist from Katie Rothwell. Gananda will take on No. 3 Holley in the sectional finals.

No. 3 HOLLEY (16-2-1) 2
No. 2 GENESEO (16-3-0) 1
Samantha Bates scored twice to lead the Holley Hawks to the Class C1 sectional finals. Bates scored in the 33rd and 37th minutes. Alivia Wolf assisted on Bates’ first goal. Bridget McMaster scored the lone Geneseo goal in the 44th minute with an assist from Harper Antonucci. Holley will meet top-seeded Gananda in the finals.

CLASS C2

No. 4 WARSAW (14-4-1) 0
No. 1 BYRON-BERGEN (19-0-0) 6
Mackenzie Hagen and Mia Gray scored twice each to keep Byron-Bergen undefeated and send them to the Class C2 sectional finals. Hagen and Gray also tallied an assist each. Emma Starowitz recorded a goal and four assists for the Bees. Grace Capostagno scored a goal as well. Novalee Pocock registered a five-save shutout. Byron-Bergen will take on No. 3 Wheatland-Chili for the Class C2 sectional championship.

No. 7 BOLIVAR-RICHBURG (10-9-0) 1
No. 3 WHEATLAND-CHILI (15-2-2) 2
Emily Parker’s goal in the 70th minute was the deciding goal to send Wheatland-Chili to the Class C2 sectional finals. Chyene Whitcomb scored the other goal for the Wildcats in the third minute. Alison Farrell assisted on both goals. Wheatland-Chili has won six straight contests. The Wildcats will face top-seeded and undefeated Byron-Bergen in the finals.
