Diamond Pro Thursday Softball Wrap: Ras leads Irondequoit eighth straight win; Mangos and Williamson stay undefeated

Freshman Abby Ras finished 4-for-5 including two home runs and a double to help the Eagles to their eighth win in a row. Ras had seven RBI. Marlayna Cartegena doubled three times and had three RBI. Kailey Besio struck out nine and allowed two earned runs. Kayce Hennecky had a hit and an RBI.

Byron-Bergen with an all-around team win against Kendall. Six Bees had hits. Five different players scored runs. Junior captain, Kendall Phillips struck out 14.

Monty Kessler went 3-for-4 including two triples. She had four RBI. Maddy Devore went 3-for-5 and scored two runs. Avery Demarco hit 2-for-4 and crossed home three times. Sophomore, Emma Years, went 2-for-4 and was the winning pitcher. Letchworth’S Morgan Brace and Morgan Wright went 2-for-4 apiece. Trinity Scott was 3-for-4 and had four RBI.

Reagan Mangos finished 3-of-4 including one home run, a triple and a double. All three times Mangos scored. Teammate Captain, Olivia Flynn, had 16 strikeouts and went 4-for-3 against Sodus. Flynn singled three times and also doubled. She scored three times Kearstin Laird singled twice.

Ariana Sierra finished 2-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored to pace the A/P offense. Emma Carlton singled, walked twice and scored two runs. Annabella Putnam walked and scored twice.

Ninth-grader Abby O’Brien doubled, tripled, drove in four runs and scored another while classmate Ashlyn Wright struck out 10 and allowed one hit and one walk to lead Bloomfield. Brianna Leitten finished 3-for-5 with a triple, three runs scored and an RBI in the win. Calla McCombs went 2-for-4 with a walk, three RBI and a run scored. Brynn Westlake was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Stephanie Beikirch walked twice and scored twice. Wright used 74 pitches (50 strikes) to get through the six-inning affair. She also worked four walks at the plate and crossed home twice. The shutout was the fifth this season for Bloomfield which put crooked numbers on the board in the second-fifth innings.
