Cordell Young finished with a game-high 26 points including three in overtime as the Eastridge boys’ basketball team rebounded from a loss to Canandaigua in its previous outing.
Playing without leading scorer Caquan Wester, on the bench with five fouls, Young’s bucket inside the two-minute mark of the extra period gave Eastridge a lead it did not surrender at 79-77. READ MORE.

Sophomore Mason Blackwood scored 10 of his team-high 19 points in the first quarter when Aquinas jumped to a 21-10 advantage on the way to its sixth straight win. The 6-foot-6 forward connected on 8-of-13 attempts from the floor for the game including 3-of-6 from distance. He grabbed eight rebounds, blocked three shots and handed out two assists. Myles Blackwood added 15 points on 7-of-14 shooting in the win. Robert McCullough scored eight while handing out seven assists. Mykel White finished with four points and four assists. Will Scanlon had five points. Jack Bleier scored four points. Aquinas beat Canisius earlier this season, 70-58. Declan Ryan paced the Canisius offense with 20 points.

James Mathews finished with 17 points, five assists and four steals as UPrep won for the second time in three games. Mylan Maxwell added 16 points and four assists in the win. Anthony Edwards posted a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Ninth grader Micah Johnson Breedlove came off the bench and hit the game winner with 5.1 seconds remaining as East rallied from as many as 21 points down and seven in the final minute to win its third straight game. Damani Barley led East with 21 points, six assists and three steals. Kai McCullough connected on four 3-pointers and added 18 points to go with seven rebounds. Shamir Caruthers had 14 points, six assists and six steals. Jeremiah Handy (4) and Nigel Copeland (3) also scored for East. Dominic McKenzie led Niagara Falls with 26 points, 22 rebounds and three blocks.

Jordan Kraft led all scorers with 14 points which paced Waterloo to the victory. Both Connor McCann and Devin Mulbey-Salerno ended with 11 points which finished the double-digit scorers for Waterloo. Colton Dresser and Ethan Laverack led South Seneca with 13 and 12 respectively.

Drew Morrow poured in a game-high 37 points alongside 15 boards as Dansville won its ninth game in its last 10. Jakob Smith was the only other Mustang in double-figures with 11. Dawson Wadsworth added six points and 10 assists. Reid Martin (5), Collin Gray (2), Caleb Rigdon (2), and Tyler Harris (2) wrapped up the scoring for Dansville.

Avoca/Prattsburgh remained unbeaten behind a game-high 33 points from Pacey Hopkins. Hopkins hit on three shots from beyond-the-arc, and added seven boards, seven assists, and four steals to his line. Sawyer Devoe finished one rebound shy of a 20-20 game as the junior totaled 20 points. Sophomore Macoy Putman added 17 points and seven assists. Hayden Abbott chipped in three points and 13 rebounds. Cole Ferris paced Canisteo-Greenwood with a team-high 22 points. Hunter McCaffery had 18 of his own, and both Mason Boyd and Evan Updyke finished with seven points.

Senior guard Ryan Garwood paced Northstar with a double-double featuring 27 points and 10 rebounds. Andrew Eschner recorded a double-double of his own with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Justin Robinson chipped in 11 points to go along with five assists. Paul Goodness led Palmyra-Macedon with 18. This marked the ninth straight win for Northstar.

Kade Cochran led all scorers with 23 as Campbell-Savona won its second straight game. The senior connected on five shots from deep. Kaden Bolt was the only other player in double-figures with 13 for the Panthers. Mason Jewell (7), Carter Crooker (6), Ethan Ribble (4), and Lucas Fieldman (4) wrapped up. the scoring for Campbemll-Savona. Pete Patrick led Arkport/Canaseraga with 17 points featuring five three-pointers. Michael Gilbert closed out double-figure scorers with 14.

Bloomfield moved above .500 behind 17 points from Cooper Willie. Issac McCelland and Cameron Smith both ended in double-digits with 15 and 10 respectively. Calvin Roger and Shen Gossage both tallied five points, and Tyler Rogers closed the scoring with two points.

Liv Schorr and Kayla Taylor both finished with two points. Ellie Bergin led Sutherland with a team-high 14 points. Leora Cook had seven, and Eden Lewis finished with six for the Knights.

The Hornell girls’ basketball team was struggling with 3-pointers in the second half Saturday, but the first half defense was as good as you could ask for. Hornell’s defense held Aquinas to zero first quarter points and the Red Raiders raced out to a 30-7 halftime lead. Aquinas was able to cut the Hornell lead to 49-47 with just 1:34 left. Anaya Coleman scored 17 points to lead Mendon to its sixth straight win. Lily Kennedy added 13 in the victory. Bridget Miller chipped in with 11 points. Danielle Strauf (9) and Kate Hennessey (2) also scored for the Vikings. Mendon finished 0-for-22 from behind the 3-point arc for the game.

Anna Thomas recorded a triple-double which paced Harley-Allendale-Columbia to its seventh straight bet. Thomas finished with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 steals. Chloe Fowler led all scorers with 20 points alongside eight assists. Eliza Nicosia added a double-double of her own featuring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Morgan Fowler (4), Lucy Michael (4), and Aryana Saedi (2) closed the scoring for the Wolves.

Kaitlyn Holland headlined five York scorers in double-figures with a team-high 18 points. Sydnee Emerson had 16 of her own, Tessa Rodwell had 12, and both Edison Plank and Katelyn Curry ended with 10 points. Jaden Densmore and Anna Lyness closed out York’s scoring with two points each.

Ella Fadale scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Brockport in the consolation game of the Coach Chow Classic at Spencerport. Emma Sodoma added 15 points. Ava Velletri finished with nine points, 12 rebounds and five assists.

Elba picked up its seventh straight win behind five different double-figure scorers. Adrianna Long and Kennedy Augello shared a team-high 14 points. Laci Sewar, Dakota Brinkman, and Sydney Reilly all totaled 10 points. Sydney Reilly closed out the Elba scoring with four points. Emily Gersitz led all scorers with 21 points for Attica. Chase Harding and Emily Gadd ended double-digit scorers with 13 and 10 respectively. Madalyn Robinson (6), Victoria Walker (4), Ellie Cusmano (3), Mackenzie McLeod (1), and Olibia Colon Mercado (1) wrapped up the scoring for Attica.

Byron-Bergen won its second-straight game behind nine different scorers. Kendall Phillips led the Bees in scoring with 11. Olivia Senf had eight, and both Mikaylah Pocock and Ava Wagoner each added seven points. Other Byron-Bergen scorers: MacKenzie Senf (6), Brooke Jarkiewicz (5), Zoey Shepherd (5), Maddie Pimm (2), and Rachel Best (2).

Emily Record scored 16 points, and Isabelle McHugh added 14 to lead Red Jacket. Leah Batterson Ella Pysnack added four apiece in the win. Mary English and Natalie and Lecceardone both scored two points. Adiah Northrop paced the Naples offense with 13 points. Brynn Davis and Anna Schenk contributed two points apiece.

In a cross-league battle, Cal-Mum went 8-of-8 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to hold off the Panthers. Both teams were led by their young post players. Ninth grader Hazell Nickerson paced Cal-Mum with 22 points and 11 boards while sophomore Kaylee Marvin led the Gananda attack with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Marvin started out hot, scoring six in the first quarter while Nickerson had four. Nickerson’s teammate, senior Taylor Mills added six in the quarter as both teams were tied at 10. Marvin added six in the second and Nickerson eight as Cal-Mum outscored the Panthers to take a 23-20 lead into the half. Marvin scored all six for the Panthers in the third while Nickerson added four, her teammates Maddy DeVore and Ava Amorese each added two of their four in the quarter and the Raiders pushed the lead to 31-26.
The Panthers heated up in the fourth and while Marvin had four, Eva Jenny had five including a late 3-pointer that closed the Raider lead to two with just over one minute to play. Marisa Roides converted a pair of free throws and Kate Rothwell followed with a quick bucket for Ganada. The Raiders finished up the game with foul shots by Amorese and Nickerson to put the game out of reach.
For the Raiders in the game. Nickerson had 22 points and 11 rebounds, Mills added 10 points and four steals. DeVore had four points and 10 rebounds while Marissa Roides had three points and four steals.
Marvin finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and five blocks. Rothwell had six points, Eva Jenny (5) and Nicole Cruz (4) rounded out the scoring for Gananda.
