Lyons head coach Dean Schott II had a feeling his team would not get out of the gates quick. With the game being played at 5:15, compared to the usual 7:30, the Lions started off the game a little stiff.
“We started out slow. Early game, with four guys being out today”, said Schott. “Our defense was good, but it took us a while to get our offense going. We sort of expected that.”
In a first half in which Lyons gritted their way to a 22-14 lead, Schott knew his team’s offense wasn’t performing like they usually did. However, he was confident, and made sure during halftime his team was confident. READ MORE.

Ian Goodness converted 4-of-4 free throws and hit a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter when Pal-Mac outscored Newark 13-2 to pull away from a single-digit game. Goodness led all scorers with 17 points on the night. Paul Goodness connected five times from the floor and added 13 points in the win, Pal-Mac’s sixth straight. Damian Knaack hit three 3-pointers and scored 12 points. Robert Kinslow (6) and Alex Wootton (2) rounded out the scoring for the Red Raiders. Newark’s Isaiah Camp scored 14 points to lead the Reds. Raeshawn Howard had 11. Brayden Steve (4), Stevie Brown (3) and Gabe Caraballo (2) also scored for Newark.
