Ceravolo, a senior captain who scored 17 points on an undefeated Victor team before Christmas, left the game early in the second quarter with an apparent lower leg injury. He returned after the halftime break, scoring 13 of his 19 points in the second half and overtime. The Braves overcame Ceravolo’s second-quarter absence, as well as an 11-point third-quarter deficit, to edge Penfield 75-73 in its own holiday tournament. Brighton nabbed its third-straight win behind Reggie Smith’s team-high 18 points. Smith recorded a double-double featuring 16 rebounds. Eli DeSandis and Andrew Falter both tallied 17 points for the Bruins. Other Brighton scorers: David Tisa Jr. (9), Matt Howe (7), Andrew Kotrides (6), Trygve Watkins (3), Quinn O’Brien (3), Jack Scott (2), Nicko Martinez (1), and Kendall Cleveland (1). Brighton outscored Arcadia by six points in the first and second quarter, and outscored the Titans by seven in the third quarter. Gabe Taylor led Greece Arcadia with 16 points. Vincent Cacia and Latrell Rowe were the only other Titans in double-figures with 12 and 10 respectively. Isaiah Dunne finished with nine, and both Dana Bolger and Michael Bolger totaled eight points.

Hornell won its third-straight game on the back of Gennaro Picco’s team-high 20 points. Picco led a balanced offense that featured nine different scorers. Gates Miller was the only other Red Raider in double-digits with 12. Shawn Rose chipped in nine, and both Andrew Hoyt and Griffyn Baker finished with six. Christian Babcock, Colin McCumiskey, Noah Kraatz, and Jeremiah Howard all ended with two points. Connor Tomion led all scorers with 21 points for Marcus Whitman. Connor Gorton and Nolan Lee both chipped in five, Bryce Tomion had three, and Brody Royston scored two.

Mason Blankenberg led Wayne to a bounce-back win with a triple-double. Blankenberg finished with a game-high 26 points alongside 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Nate Coleman pitched in 13 points, and Devon Forrest ended the double-digit scorers for the Eagles with 10. Other Wayne scorers: PJ Ostrowski (6), Jacob Johnson (4), and Shamus Fanning (2). Livonia never trailed in the game as Chris Coyle led the Bulldogs to victory with a game-high 27 points to go along with 13 rebounds. Coyle netted a half-court shot at the end of the first quarter to put Livonia up 13. Justin Skelly posted a career-high 22 points and 13 rebounds, and Evan Swann chipped in nine points and 14 rebounds.

HF-L outscored NE Douglass 14- 4 in OT to win the championship of the Cougar Classic. Senior point guard JT Killenbec scored a career-high 26 points including 13 in the fourth quarter and overtime to go along with 14 rebounds and eight assists to lead the way for the Cougars. Killenbec converted 5-of-6 at the free throw line. Nolan Smith had a double-double with 21 points, 11 rebounds while blocking five shots. Other HF-L scorers: Ben Carson (7), Carson Joint (5), Trent Wager (5), Drew Angelo (4) and Wyatt Huff (4). Roberto Echevarria paced NE Douglass with 27 points, including seven 3-pointers. Collin James had 11 points, including the game-tying shot in the lane with 2.7 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. Batavia snapped a five-game losing streak behind a game-high 28 points from Javin McFollins. McFollins scored 23 of his points in the first half, and knocked down six three-pointers for the game (five in the first half). Carter McFollins was the only other Blue Devil in double-digits with 11. Avoca/Prattsburgh captured the Avoca/Prattsburgh Christmas Tournament Championship behind senior Pacey Hopkins game-high of 26. Hopkins added eight steals, six assists, and six rebounds to his line. Sophomore Macoy Putman chipped in 19 points 10 assists, seven steals, four rebounds, and two blocks. Sawyer Devoe scored 14 of his own. Caleb Johnson contributed 13 points and eight rebounds and Hayden Abbott finished with five points and 10 rebounds. Tucker Gerych netted 10 points off the bench for the Vikings. Jamel Crowder scored four, and Jamie Reagan had one. Logan Salvatore and Camden Rosemier led Dundee/Bradford with a combined 41 points. Salvatore had a team-high 23, and Rosemier finished with 18.

Kade Cochran dropped a game-high 29 points which led Campbell-Savona to its second-straight win. Cochran connected on six three’s. Yaliel Bonilla chipped in 13 including three knocks from beyond-the-arc, and Dokin Floyd ended double-figure scorers with 11. Joshua Joyce added nine, Mike Wiggins had three, Lashawn Henry ended with two, and Jayleon Smith had one. Hector Rosad led Geneva with a team-high 19 points. Kyle Wade led the Raiders to its fifth-straight championship in the Caledonia-Mumford Christmas Tournament. Wade finished with a game-high 30 points featuring four three-pointers, and eclipsed 1,000 career points for Caledonia-Mumford. The senior also finished with seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Scott Esig added 24 points of his own alongside four rebounds and four assists. Evan Raniewicz had eight, and Cam Reed scored three. Caledonia-Mumford also set its record for three-pointers made in a game with 13. Maddux Timothy and Connor Rodwell led York with 10 points each.
Wade earned MVP honors for the tournament, and landed on the All-Tournament Team. Essig, Raniewicz, and Timothy also joined the All-Tournament team. Austin Flynn (York), Miles Caviness (Gananda), and Isaiah Espaillat (Gannada) filled out the rest of the All-Tournament Team.

Merritt Holly posted a double-double in the win with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Finn Shelby finished with nine points, five rebounds and four assists. John Panepento had nine points.

Less than two minutes remained in the third quarter of Thursday’s state-ranked matchup in the Great Livonia Shootout with the visiting Waterloo girls holding a three-point edge over host Livonia. Six possessions later, Mike Bree’s Waterloo Indians had a double-digit lead they did not surrender. Junior guard Morgan Caraballo scored eight of her 18 points, and Giovanna White-Principio put bookends on an 11-3 run as Waterloo (No. 2 NYSSWA Class B) stayed undefeated at 7-0 with a 67-50 victory. Imani Harder scored nine points and had eight rebounds, Mikalya Chase scored eight with four steals, Nadia Chase netted six points alongside seven rebounds, and Kamryn Bonnell finished with four points, six rebounds, and four steals.
