The SUNY Geneseo women’s soccer team survived a second half scare from Fredonia in the SUNYAC semifinals and advanced to the championship game with a 3-2 victory.

The Knights scored just two minutes into the game as senior Mackenzie Griffin put in a rebound off of a Hannah Sullivan corner kick.

Just over 10 minutes later, Griffin crossed to sophomore Liv Raucci, who hit the upper left corner and a 2-0 Geneseo lead.

Sullivan increased the lead just past the midway point of the first half, dribbling through the Blue Devils defense.

Maddy Payne (68′) and Katie Sellers (82′) scored second half goals for Fredonia.

The Knights make their fourth straight SUNYAC Championship game appearance Saturday at home at 1pm against Cortland.
