Will Field scored two second half goals that led Sutherland to the semifinals. Field scored unassisted on his first goal, and Henry Walbaum assisted Field’s second goal. Walbaum netted the Knights first goal of the game. David Adeleke-Adedoyin assisted the first Sutherland goal. The Knights will play Wayne in the semifinals.

On most occasions, the coin flip prior to an athletic contest has little bearing on the game’s outcome. Tuesday night was not one of those times.A relentless downpour cascaded the field at Eastridge High School, the site of the Section V Boys’ Soccer Class A quarter-final matchup between No. 4 Wayne and No. 5 Brockport. The rain accompanied 15-to-20 mile-per-hour winds out of the east and gusts that turned none too few umbrellas inside-out. Given the choice between possession of the ball or wind at their backs to start the game, Jay Marino’s Wayne Eagles chose the latter. Jack Cool and Mitchell Ward teamed up for both Fillmore goals as the Eagles advanced to the Class D1 title game. Cool assisted Ward for the lone Fillmore goal in the first half. Cool netted the game-winning goal in the second half on a Ward assist. Aaron Lund had the only goal for Wheatland-Chili. Fillmore will play Arkport/Canaseraga in the title game.

Ethan Davenport paced Scio into the finals with a team-high two goals. Davenport scored an unassisted goal in the first half, and had his second goal in the second half on a pass from Lazar Bulajic. Bulajic had the final goal of the first half on a Jordan White assist, and White finished the games scoring with an unassisted goal. Scio will go up against C. G. Finney in the Class D2 championship game.

NO. 1 PALMYRA-MACEDON (16-2) 5
Emma Robinson netted two goals that led Palmyra-Macedon to the Class B1 finals. Maya Ikewood connected with Reagan Diehl for the first goal of the game, and then Robinson scored two-straight goals. Molly Seither assisted Robinson’s first in the 19th minute, and Kylie Waeghe assisted her last goal in the 28th minute. Diehl finished the scoring of the first half with a goal in the 36th minute. Seither had the final goal of the game with an assist from Robinson in the 74th minute. Pal-Mac will play Hornell in the title game.

Hornell will square-off against top-seeded Palmyra-Macedon in the Class B1 championship game.

Haverling advanced to the Class B2 finals behind four different goal scorers. Ella Yartym got the Rams on the board in the first minute on an assist from Keegan Smith. Sydney Burns added on two minutes later with an unassisted goal, and Smith got on the board with a goal in the same minute. Lillian Dickson finished the games scoring in the 35th minute following a pass from Yartym. Goalkeeper Lola Coots saved two goals. Abby Belcher had 12 saves for the Lady Mustangs. Haverling will play Penn Yan in the championship game.

Penn Yan will play top-seeded Bath-Haverling in the Class B2 title game.
CLASS C1

Chloe Hubbard and Taylor Howard both netted two goals as Warsaw moved on to the championship game. Hubbard scored both of her goals in the second half, one assists by Makaylah Higgins and the other was unassisted. Both of Howard’s goals were unassisted in the second half. Higgins received credit for another two assists. Morgan Langdon and Ellie Tangeman were on the receiving end of the assists. Sarah Cox tallied six saves in goal. Warsaw will play second-seeded Geneseo in the championship game.

Mary Claire Rollins scored the game-winning goal in the 35th minute as Geneseo advanced to the title game. Maddie Mark assisted the lone goal of the game. Caroline Capel recorded five saves for the Blue Devils. Geneseo will face-off against top-seeded Warsaw for the Class C1 title.

Chloe Fowler netted the game-winner two minutes into overtime which sent Harley-Allendal-Columbia to the Class C2 championship game. AJ Williams and Olivia Strader scoered the two goals in regulation. Morgan Fowler totaled eight saves in goal. Harley-Allendale-Columbia will play Byron-Bergen in the title game.

Byron-Bergen coach Wayne Hill and his Bees one of four teams from that league to advance to the girls small school semifinals. They scored three early second half goals to beat Bishop Kearney 5-2 and advance to Friday’s Class C2 final. READ MORE.
