Geneseo bounced back from a tough loss to defeat Oswego 2-1 on Saturday.
The Knights came out firing on offense, as they recorded four shots in the first three minutes of action. However, they weren’t able to capitalize from the early pressure and the score remained 0-0 as the first half continued.
Geneseo continued their quest to find the back of the net and take a lead going into halftime, and in the 33rd minute they did just that. Vasion Sinjari found Tyler Lewandowski who put a header past the Lakers goalie for the 1-0 advantage.
Twenty minutes into the second half, Justin Arilotta put the Knights ahead 2-0 with a goal off an assist from Joe Vogt. Arilotta’s goal turned out to be crucial as Oswego made it a one goal game in the 86th minute.
Will Price sealed the 2-1 victory with a save in the 88th minute.
The Knights host Potsdam on October 15 and Plattsburgh on October 16.
