ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Three different players tallied goals as the St. Bonaventure University women’s soccer team downed Robert Morris, 3-0, Thursday evening at the Marra Athletics Complex.
The Bonnies (1-1-1) struck quick and never looked back against the Colonials (1-2-0).
Freshman Chanel Alexander pounced on a rebound opportunity in the 13th minute and smashed home the first goal of her career to give the Bonnies an early 1-0 edge.
Cristina Torres added an insurance goal for the hosts in the 78th minute, pushing the Bonnies lead to 2-0.
In the 82nd minute, Christine Napoli put the finishing touches on the Brown and White’s first victory of the season with a long range shot from outside the box.
The Bonnies dominated possession time and outshot the Colonials, 18-6, led by Alexander and Torres who tallied five shots each.
Chiara Gottinger registered the first shutout of her career, stopping two Robert Morris shots.
The Bonnies are back in action Sunday, Aug. 29 on the road at Merrimack for a 12:00 p.m. start.
