Nick Ianiello was (as his teammates said) “in his element.” Fifteen minutes or so after the final pitch had been thrown, Ianiello was going through the daily routine of pulling a steel mat drag over the infield of the Penfield High School diamond. A young man taking the time to prepare the field for the next day while collecting his thoughts of what had just taken place. The Red Raiders picked up their fourth win of the season behind a two-RBI game from Zach Merlo. Merlo ended the game 1-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored. Fairport scored three in the second inning on an error, a bases-loaded walk, and a sacrifice fly to go up 4-0. The Red Raiders put up a three-spot in the fifth to put the game away behind a two-run double from Merlo; Merlo scored on an error later in the inning. Dylan Norton went 2-for-2 with two walks and a run scored in the leadoff spot, and Nick Provenzano tallied two hits and two runs scored in four at-bats. Cameron Kingsley hurled a complete game allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out 14. Chris Moroz and Sam Boock collected the only hits for the Braves.

GREECE ATHENA (7-1) 7 (10 Innings)
Matt Tallini scored the game-winning run on an error to lift Greece Athena to a bounce-back win. Tallini got the inning started with a double, his only hit of the game, and scored with the bases-loaded and one out when Aleks Englert put the ball in play. Connor Osier started the game and pitched the first four and two-third innings for the Trojans. Osier struck out three, and gave up six hits and three earned runs. Jaden Madrid came in relief and hurled the following five and one third innings. Madrid earned the win and allowed one earned run on seven hits while striking out five. Trailing 4-1 in the fifth, TJ Kurtz drove in two with a single and Englert scored on a ground ball that tied the game the next at-bat. Englert recorded two RBI. Casey Saucke went 1-for-3 with three walks and scored three times. Vic Alongi had a team-high three hits to go along with three walks and one RBI. Dylan Bliss had two hits. Junior Brian Tisa led the Eagles going 4-for-5 with two RBI. Dillon Fisher had one hit and the game-tying RBI in the seventh that sent the game to extra innings. Samuel Lessard went 2-for-5 with an RBI, and Brody Froman went 2-for-5 with an RBI as well.

Bryant Santiago paced Geneva with three hits to lead the Panthers to its second straight win. Santiago finished the game 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Geneva jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the second behind a five-run second inning. Santiago drove in the first run with a bases-loaded single, Troy Snook and Gavin Brignall scored on an error, and then Santiago and Michael Bowler came around to score on an error. The Panthers added to its lead in the fourth with an RBI double from Michael Richardson. Bowler started on the mound for the Panthers and earned the win. The senior struck out 13 over six innings and allowed zero earned runs and three hits. Travis Arno closed the game out pitching the final inning. Brignall ended the game 2-for-4 with two runs scored, Wyatt Patchett collected two hits and scored a run, and Kevin Bucklin swatted a hit. For Wayne, Josh Armstrong led the team going 3-for-4 including a double and a triple with two RBI and a run scored. Brady Ruffell and Alex Tomaselli both had a hit.

Jake Dressel led Attica to its fourth win of the season with a three RBI game. Dressel went 2-for-4 including a two-run single and an RBI single. Wyatt Kauffman drove in two runs while going 1-for-3, and Kyle Clark-Simerski scored two runs and drove in a run while getting one hit. Dan Bialek pitched five innings and struck out nine. The sophomore allowed one walk and four hits while giving up three earned runs. Bialek scored three times and recorded two hits at the plate. Drew Cusmano and Ian Romesser both had two hits and an RBI, and Nick Perl swatted two hits. Jaykob Belluscio, Caleb Scouten, and Zach Howard each drove in a run for Elba.

Naples got back to .500 behind six shutout innings from Drew Reigelsperger. Jackson Brahm closed the game out pitching the final inning. Brahm led Naples at the plate with a team-high three hits and three RBI. Owen Hulbert went 3-fo-3 including a triple and two RBI. Ryan Lester added two hits and an RBI, and Ben Green collected two hits. For Marcus Whitman, Carson Miller, Jonathon Lloyd, and Nicholas Lloyd each had a single.

Dylan Dohse and Luke Ciprich both had three RBI which led Gananda to its sixth win in its last seven games. The Blue Panthers led 9-3 before exploding for an 11-run seventh inning highlighted by nine walks. Dohse finished the game 3-for-5 with five runs scored alongside his three RBI. Ciprich went 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Sam O’Neil and Patrick Walsh both added two RBI apiece. O’Neil went 3-for-6 with three runs scored and Walsh collected one hit and three walks. O’Neil started on the mound for the Blue Panthers and hurled 6 and two-third innings. The senior struck out 11 and allowed just three hits while issuing one earned run. Aidan Giancursio got the final out of the game for Gananda. Ethan Kuntz walked and scored three times, Giancursio swatted one hit alongside one RBI, three walks and three runs scored. For Sodus, Jedidiah Bodine and Braydn Orbaker had a hit and an RBI, and Logan Bulman recorded a hit as well.

The Bulldogs won its fifth game of the season behind a Jake Jansinski three-run double in the first inning. Cam Allison added a run for Honeoye in the fifth with an RBI single, and Charlie Farrell added the final Bulldog run in the seventh with a two-out RBI double. Quaid Griffin earned the win in his four innings of work. Griffin got out of a bases-loaded jam in the seventh to hold on for the win. Bloomfield’s Cal Rogers hurled a complete game with nine strikeouts.

Justus Robinson led Franklin to its third win of the season with a four-hit game. Robinson brought in the go-ahead runs with a two-run base-knock in the seventh inning. Robinson ended the game 4-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. Jhansell Carreras pitched the bottom of the seventh to pick up the win in relief. Jalen Breedy went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Carreras collected two hits. Nextah Vega threw out the go ahead run for School of the Arts in the sixth to keep the game tied at four.

Webster Thomas scored 15 runs in the final two innings behind Mitchell Kelly’s four-hit game to win its eighth straight. Kelly went 4-for-6 with a double, triple, five RBI and three runs scored. Junior James Bolton went 3-for-5 with five RBI including a home run. Mike Zicari swatted two doubles and collected two RBI, and both Greyson McDonnell and Max Heil recorded two hits. Senior Dominic Delvecchio won his first varsity start by hurling five innings allowing just three hits while striking out six. For Eastridge, Jake Jaffarian and Keenan Calenzo both had RBI singles.

The Titans scored four runs in the third inning highlighted by two doubles and never looked back. Isabella Giorgione drove in the first two runs with a double, and Madison Hicks drove in the other two on a double of her own. Sophomore Anna Bello led the team at the dish going 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Hicks pitched a complete game for the Titans allowing two earned runs on six hits and striking out seven. Alexandria Miskey and Mary Rose-Ciaccio drove in the two runs for Mendon.

Kailey Johnson paced Wayland Cohocton going 5-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored. Laura Mansfield went 2-for-3, Sydney Weatherbee finished 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Gretchen Huber struck out three and earned the win. Wayland Cohocton scored three runs in the sixth and four in the seventh to pull away after being tied through five. Maddy DeVore led Caledonia-Mumford going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Makenzie Stetzenmeyer had a triple, and Taylor Mills went 2-for-3.
