Adam Williams led Gates-Chili with 25 points, 21 of which came in the second half. Williams completed the double-double with 13 boards. Devon Payton led the Spartans through their first-half struggles, netting 14 points. Siplin and Glenn had 12 points apiece. Top-seeded Pittsford Mendon rode a strong team defensive effort coupled with occasional individual brilliance to beat fourth-seeded Leadership Academy on Thursday night, 81-63. Four Vikings scored in double figures — Luke Hoyser with 19, Jacob Shadders with 18, Green with 17 and Caleb Lewis with 15. Put good defense and balanced offense together and Mendon had its recipe for a spot in Saturday’s Class A1 sectional final against No. 3 Irondequoit. READ MORE.

Keenan Robertson headlined a balanced Irondequoit offense that had four scorers in double-figures. The senior tallied a team-high 20 points with seven of them in the fourth quarter. The Eagles dominated the second and third quarters, outscoring the Titans 35-17 behind Ryan Heath, Rowan McGwin, and Jaheel Davis’s combined 25 points in that stretch. Davis and Heath each finished with 12, and McGwin ended with 10. Other scorers – Irondequoit: Jason Jacobs Jr. (4), and Jake O’Sullivan (2). Jackson Kulik paced the Webster Thomas offense with a game-high 22 points. Kulik connected on a game-high five three pointers. No other Titan finished in double-digits. Other scorers – Webster Thomas: Shawn Mason (7), Sean Linder (6), Tyler Williams (6), Will Richardson (5), Eli Adams (3), and Andrew Quinn (2). Irondequoit will match up against No. 1 Pittsford Mendon for the Class A1 title.

A balanced East offense featured four scorers over 15 points headlined by Justus Ross-Simmons with a team-high 19 points. Ross-Simmons did his damage in the second half where he scored 15 of his 19 points. Junior Damani Barley and senior Darren Blocker Jr. each finished with 17. Kai McCullough tallied 16 behind three made threes. Clinique Jackson added nine, and Shamir Caruthers chipped in two. For Greece Athena, senior Austin Brown led the team with a game-high 20 points. Trashawn Jackson-Smith had 16 of his own including two three pointers in the fourth quarter. Other scorers – Greece Athena: Kenny Freeman (8), Frankie Oropeza (6), Jahon Jones (5), Matt Duemmel (3), and Khori Reaves (2). East will look to win back-to-back sectional titles when it faces No. 7 Honeoye Falls-Lima.

Senior Jordan Lahue scored a game-high 31 points as the Wildcats handed Lyons its first loss. Lahue had 20 in the second half as Marcus Whitman outscored Lyons 40-25. The guard made three shots from beyond the arc, and went 9-of-10 from the free throw line in the second half. Ryan Herod added 13, and Noah Hildreth chipped in 10. Other scorers – Marcus Whitman: Aidan Royston (9), and Zack Lovejoy (1). JC Walker led Lyons with a team-high 19 points. Walker did his damage in the second half as he had 15 of his 19, and Justin Smith Jr. finished with 14 of his own. Other scorers – Lyons: Horace Betts IV (9), Jaylen Battle (6), and Ahmir James (6). Marcus Whitman will move on to play No. 2 Avon for the Class C1 title.

Junior Kyle Wade scored a game-high 35 points alongside eight rebounds and eight assists as Caledonia-Mumford remains unbeaten. Evan Raniewicz made four threes on his way to 18 points. Raniewicz also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out eight assists. The Raiders trailed by 3 at the half, and went on to outscore York 50-32 in the second half. Other scorers – Caledonia-Mumford: Alex Carnes (10), Mark Poles-Harrison (5), Cam Reed (4), and Scott Essig (4). James Kennedy led York with a team-high 27 points. David Couzzo added 16, and Tyler Brady chipped in six. The Raiders will face off against No. 3 OakField-Alabama in the Class C2 title game.

For Midlakes, Mary Givens scored a team-high 13 points, and Cara Walker totaled 10 points alongside five rebounds. Hanna Godkin, Callie Walker, Grace Murphy each had 8 points. Batavia will play No. 1 Palmyra-Macedon in the Class B1 title game.
