Senior Jacob Shadders dominated in the season-opener scoring a game-high 29 points alongside 10 rebounds, six assists, three steals, and one block. Shadders’s 14 first-half points helped put Mendon ahead by 17 points at the break. Sophomore Jackson Greene totaled 21 points, and scored four or more points in every quarter. Patrick Lustyk and Josh Vogt each finished with 17 points. Lustyk went 3-for-3 beyond the arc, grabbed eight boards and recorded four steals. Vogt had six rebounds alongside his 17 points. Williams connected six times from the floor in the final stanza and hit the clincher with :04 seconds on the clock. The senior forward hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final eight minutes. Teammate Andrew Newcombe had eight points, 10 assists and nine rebounds in the win. Kobe McCray connected four times from long range and finished with 18 points. Ky’Mere Meeks and Ben Carey combined for 10 points in the first quarter to pace Schroeder to an early 16-6 advantage. Meeks finished with 15 points. Luke Insley led the Warriors with 23 points. Wilkins accounted for eight points in the fourth quarter when the Patriots outscored Brighton, 23-9. Aidan Cook connected three times from behind the 3-point arc during the contest and finished with 13 points. Brady Schroeder hit twice from distance and added 10 points. Caden Harrington had eight in the win and Andrew Fallaice chipped in six. Brighton’s Nathan Martin scored 17 of his game-high 22 points in the first half to help the Bruins to a 37-29 lead at the break. Tyler Ortiz added 10 points. Thomas Passawe (6), Aidan Lazenby (6), Olin Stanat (5), Troy McPherson (3) and David Tisa, Jr. (2) also scored for Brighton.
