Semifinal Preview: Girls’ Soccer Class C2

Class C2 Girls’ Soccer rolls into the semifinals Monday evening. Both matchups feature teams which have not played each other this season. Geneseo will play Bolivar-Richburg while Byron-Bergen takes on Marion. Here is the breakdown:

No. 1 seed GENESEO BLUE DEVILS (13-0-0/Livingston County Division III) vs. No. 5 seed BOLIVAR-RICHBURG WOLVERINES (10-3-1/Allegany County Division I)

How they got here: Geneseo beat No. 8 seed Elba/Oakfield-Alabama, 2-1, in the quarterfinals. Bolivar-Richburg won both of its sectional games, 3-nil, over No. 12 seed Cuba-Rushford and No. 13 seed Pavilion.

Total goals scored: Geneseo (69), Bolivar-Richburg (37)

Total goals allowed: Geneseo (2), Bolivar-Richburg (18)

Last time they met: Geneseo and Bolivar-Richburg have not played each other this season.

How they got here: Byron-Bergen shut out No. 7 seed Kendall 1-0 in the quarterfinals. Marion beat Letchworth 3-1 in the first round and then moved on past the quarterfinals via forfeit.
