Semifinal Preview: Girls’ Soccer Class B2

The Girls’ Class B2 semifinals are highlighted by ninth-seeded Mynderse which upset top-seeded Penn Yan. The Blue Devils will take on the fourth-seeded LeRoy. Bath-Haverling is the highest remaining seed and will play Dansville. Games are planned for Monday. Here is the breakdown:

No. 4 seed LeROY OATKAN KNIGHTS (7-5-1/Livingston County Division I) vs. No. 9 seed MYNDERSE BLUE DEVILS (5-9-0/Finger Lakes East Division)

How they got here: LeRoy defeated No. 5 seed Waterloo 5-0 in the quarterfinals. Mynderse beat eighth-seeded Wayland-Cohocton, 1-0 in the first round, and then upset No. 1 seed Penn Yan 3-1 in the quarterfinals.

Total goals scored: LeRoy (40), Mynderse (12)

Total goals allowed: LeRoy (19), Mynderse (35)

Last time they met: LeRoy and Mynderse have not played each other this season.

Trends: LeRoy has won four out of the last five, allowing just three goals in their last five games. Mynderse has won three consecutive after four straight losses.

No. 2 seed BATH-HAVERLING RAMS (11-2-0/Livingston County Division I) vs. No. 6 seed DANSVILLE MUSTANGS (10-2-1/Livingston County Division I)

How they got here: Haverling shut out North Rose 6-0 in the quarterfinals. Dansville beat No. 3 Williamson 3-1 in the quarterfinals, and Dansville beat Attica 6-0 in the first round.

Total goals scored: Bath-Haverling (43), Dansville (28)

Total goals allowed: Bath-Haverling (12), Dansville (23)

Last time they met: Bath-Haverling beat Dansville both times they matched up in the regular season. The Lady Rams outscored the Lady Mustangs by seven, winning 3-0 and 4-0.

Trends: Bath-Haverling has won six of the last seven. The Lady Rams gave up one goal in the six wins. Dansville has won four straight, allowing one goal in that span.
