Jake Veniskey brought consistent production for a Webster Thomas squad which won 10 games and advanced to the 2019 Section V Class AA sectional quarterfinals as the No. 7 seed. The 6-foot senior collected 12 base knocks in 34 plate appearances (.353 batting average) in 2019, including four doubles.
Veniskey produced six RBI, scored four runs and drew four walks. He scored 38 percent of the time when he walked or swatted a hit as well. Veniskey predominately played third base and was the designated hitter for Webster Thomas.
Veniskey helped Webster Thomas tally victories over sectional semifinalists Hilton and Irondequoit.
Veniskey plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh and major in Finance.
