Frankie Fernandes was a big addition to an Irondequoit squad which compiled a 16-5 record and advanced to the 2019 Class A1 sectional semifinals as the No. 2 seed. The senior infielder hit .339 (21-of-62) in 2019, including three doubles and a home run.

Fernandes scored six runs and collected 12 RBI. The senior switch-hitter produced 12 walks and a .440 on-base percentage as well. Defensively, Fernandes only committed four errors in 28 total chances (.857 fielding percentage). The senior infielder turned two double plays, had nine assists and produced 15 put outs.

Fernandes helped the Eagles to a six-game win streak including back-to-back victories over eventual NYS semifinalist, Canandaigua. Irondequoit claimed first place in Monroe County Division II with a 9-1 record. Fernandes will continue his baseball career in the fall at Monroe Community College.
