Hurling 72 strikeouts in 97-plus innings during his sophomore and junior seasons, Pat Sherron established himself at the top of the Rush-Henrietta pitching staff.
In 2018 Sherron led the varsity squad with four wins in nine starts and pitched two complete games. He struck out 30 in 45.3 innings and finished the season with a 2.32 ERA. The right-hander held opponents to a .250 batting average and a .345 on-base percentage. He tallied 119 first-pitch strikes.
Leading the Rush-Henrietta pitchers in almost every statistic in 2019, Sherron’s junior year, he started in eight games and ended the season with a 4-5 record. He pitched four games without relief, doubling his number from the previous season. Sherron threw for 42 strikeouts over 52.33 innings on the mound. He finished the season with an ERA of 2.48 and averaged 1.204 WHIP (walks plus hits per innings pitched). Opponents averaged a .223 batting average against him and a .309 on-base percentage.
At the plate, Sherron finished 2018 with a .397 batting average and a .456 on-base percentage across 58 at-bats. He hit .258 with a .319 on-base percentage across 62 at-bats in 2019.
Sherron, also the starting quarterback on the Royal Comets’ football team, will continue his baseball career at Monroe Community College in the fall.
