Midlakes junior Cara Walker finished in the top 10 in Section V in rebounding and assists while leading the Screaming Eagles to a 14-8 record. Walker averaged 17.6 points, 15 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.4 steals and a block en route to being named to the All-Finger Lakes East First-Team for the third season in a row.

Walker topped the 20-point mark on seven occasions. She had a season-high 31 against Penn Yan. Walker also ran up 29 points once and 27 points twice. The 5-foot-8 junior shot 36 percent (103-for-263) from the field, 22 percent (12-for-54) from beyond the arc and 73 percent (142-for-194) from the free throw line. In her fourth varsity season, Walker hit the 1,000-point mark and currently sits at 1,100.

She grabbed at least 10 rebounds in 20 of the 22 games played. That led to 17 double-doubles and a triple-double this season. The triple-double was against Red Jacket and Walker had 16 points, 16 rebounds and 12 assists.

Her season-best rebound mark was 23 in Screaming Eagles’ sectional tilt against Livonia. Walker blocked two shots in five separate games and dished out seven assists against Wayne. Additionally, she is the program leader in wins (63) and rebounds (691) and has a chance to become the program leader in assists and steals during her final campaign.

Walker has interest in attending Cornell, Penn State, Mercy College or SUNY Brockport. She has played AAU for the Lady Lakers, WNY Shock and I-90 Elite.
