Aquinas junior Julie Sonricker’s complimentary scoring helped earn her a place on the Private/Parochial Division I second team. The 5-foot-7-inch guard averaged 9.0 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 1.5 steals for the Li’l Irish.
Sonricker was Aquinas’s second-leading scorer and did a majority of her damage from behind the arc. She shot 40 percent (40-for-90) from distance and 34 percent (59-for-149) overall. Her junior season scoring output was an improvement over her previous year when she accounted for 4.0 points per game. The rising senior scored a season-high 16 points against Nardin with four made threes, while she poured in 14 points on four threes against Eastridge.
Sonricker also improved her rebound, assist and steal numbers in the 2019-20 season, going from 1.2 boards (26), 0.5 dimes (10) and 0.5 steals (11) to 1.6 rebounds (35), 0.6 assists (14) and 1.5 steals (33).
Sonricker plays AAU with the Finger Lakes Fury and Rochester Fightin’ Irish AAU Club.
