The Victor Blue Devils increased their win total by 14 games over the previous season. Junior transfer CJ James played a pivotal role in the improvement.
James averaged 10.8 points per game shooting 69 percent from the field and 29 percent from beyond the arc. The 6-foot-4-inch forward also grabbed 7.3 rebounds.
The junior scored season-high 18 points against Gates-Chili, Churchville-Chili, and Fairport. James ranked third on Victor in points per game trailing senior Matt Caggiano, who averaged 14.2 points per game and junior Connor Williams, who averaged 13 per game.

On December 13th, James had 17 rebounds in a win at Fairport 50-43. The forward was also a huge presence on the defensive end. James registered a season-high three blocks in a win over Penfield. The junior also had a season-high four steals against Webster Thomas.
James, who scored 18.3 points per game for Greece Olympia in 2018-19, will return next season along with fellow rotation contributors Chase Dickens, Connor Williams, and Phil Nwugwo. James plays AAU for Rochester City Rocks.
