Churchville-Chili junior Mikayla Shipley served as an important piece for the Saints’ 2019-20 season. Shipley scored 4.7 points, grabbed 3.7 rebounds, dished out 1.9 assists and grabbed 1.7 steals per game.
Shipley was effective inside the arc, making 30.8 percent (16-for-52) of her twos. She also made 20.7 percent (17-for-82) of her threes and 44.7 percent (21-for-47) of her free throws. Shipley finished the season with an overall field goal percentage of 31.0 percent.
The 5-foot-8 guard was particularly good at keeping the offense moving, as she had a 1.14 assist-to-turnover ratio. Defensively, Shipley was disruptive, getting 0.95 deflections per game, as well as 1.7 steals while only committing 1.5 fouls per contest.
Shipley is part of a Churchville-Chili lineup which included eight juniors, a sophomore and a freshman. She plays AAU with the WNY Lady Lakers.
