Fairport freshman Ella Meabon led the Red Raiders to a 12-10 record and was the youngest player on the Monroe County Division I first team by two years. Meabon averaged 12.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.0 steals during her second season as a varsity basketball player.
The 5-foot-8-inch guard shot 34.5 percent (101-for-293) from the field and 31.5 percent (34-for-108) on threes. She more than doubled her three-point total makes of 16 from a year ago. Additionally, she shot 64.4 percent (38-for-59) from the free throw line.
Meabon pulled down a season-best nine rebounds against Rush Henrietta, made five threes against Irondequoit, dished out four assists against Webster Schroeder and grabbed four steals against Webster Thomas, Canandaigua and Norwich (Section IV).
Meabon, who has a 24-inch vertical jump, is part of a Fairport lineup which included four sophomores and another freshman in 2019-20. The Red Raiders fell in the Class AA quarter-finals. She plays AAU with the Syracuse Royals.
