How they got here: Geneva opened sectionals with a 61-56 win over Pal-Mac. Devon Martin led the Panthers with a game-high 27 points as Geneva defeated No. 5 Hornell, 75-47, in the semifinals.
Waterloo downed Greece Olympia, 73-48 in the quarterfinals. Kyle Slywka buried a go-ahead three with 28 seconds left to put Waterloo over No. 7 Newark, 51-49, in the semifinals.
History 101: Geneva is looking to win its sixth title in program history. The Panthers claimed the 2014 A2 crown. Waterloo has won six Section V championships, but the Indians haven’t won a block since the 1972 A title.
Last time they met: Devon Martin scored 17 points as Geneva swept the regular season home-and-home with a 58-54 victory on February 18.
