Section V Semifinals Preview: Boys’ Basketball Class C3

The Section V Class C3 semifinals are headed to Genesee Community College for its final four. All four of the top seeds have taken care of business so far. Here’s the breakdown:

No. 1 CALEDONIA-MUMFORD (18-3/Livingston County Division 2) vs. No. 4 LYNDONVILLE (13-8/Genesee Region Division 2) 6:30 PM Monday, Genesee Community College
Scoring offense:
 Caledonia-Mumford (72.90 PPG), Lyndonville (61.75 PPG)
Scoring defense: Caledonia-Mumford (52.60 PPG), Lyndonville (52.20 PPG)
Current streak: Caledonia-Mumford has won nine of its last 10. Lyndonville has won five of its last seven.


How they got here: Vinny Molisani had a career day as Caledonia-Mumford beat Wheatland-Chili 85-54. Lyndonville took down Dundee by a score of 61-35.

No. 2 YORK (18-3/Livingston County Division 3) vs. No. 3 OAKFIELD-ALABAMA (16-5/Genesee Region Division 1) 8:15 PM Monday, Genesee Community College
Scoring offense: York (69.25 PPG), Oakfield-Alabama (61.05 PPG)
Scoring defense: York (56.55 PPG), Oakfield-Alabama (51.90 PPG)
Current streak: York hasn’t lost in 2020, winning 13 consecutive games. Oakfield-Alabama has won 10 of its past 11.
How they got here: Riley Stella paced York as the Knights beat HAC 92-44. Oakfield-Alabama knocked off South Seneca 84-58.
