ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men’s basketball team couldn’t pull the upset over No. 11 Bridgeport on the road Sunday afternoon falling to the Purple Knights, 113-86.
Reggie Clark (Greece Arcadia) led all scorers with 24 points. It was the guard’s seventh 20-plus point game of the season. Redshirt freshman Eric Lewis had a career high 12 points and freshman Abou Gbane scored 17 points, also a career single game best.
Turnovers were the detriment of the Redhawks all afternoon. Roberts gave the ball away 30 times leading to 44 points for Bridgeport. It was the most turnovers in a game by the Redhawks all season.
The Purple Knights also took advantage on the boards grabbing 44 rebounds, including 20 offensive leading to 44 second chance buckets.
Roberts falls to 3-19 overall and is still looking to pick up its first win in the East Coast Conference.
Next up for the Redhawks is a Friday evening home game against Mercy College. Tipoff in the VAC is set for 8 p.m.
