Jevonte Williams totaled 44 points in three road games for Rush-Henrietta. Andrew Mason put himself at the top of the Webster Thomas record books. Jalyn Moorehead led the offensive surge in two Pittsford Sutherland victories, and Jaden Hartsfield paced a pair of Greece Odyssey wins.
The four garnered Monroe County Player of the Week (January 27-31) acknowledgements as decided by coaches.
Williams opened the week at Canandaigua with 12 points and five assists. Two days later, at Pittsford Mendon, the senior drained 16 points and dished four assists the Comets’ 63-61 win. At Penfield, he put up the same numbers, 16 points and four assists, to help Rush-Henrietta seal a 75-72 win, the 400th in Coach Chris Reed’s career. Williams, the Monroe County Division I Player of the Week (POTW) and the Comets are back at home on Tuesday, February 4 to face Wilson Magnet.
Mason moved to the top of the all-time Webster Thomas scoring list with a 24-point performance, the Titans only game this past week. The 6-foot-3 senior guard went 7-for-11 from the field with six three-pointers and four buckets at the line to earn Division II POTW. On top of that, he finished with six rebounds, six assists, and three steals. Mason and the Titans will face crosstown rival Webster Schroeder on Wednesday, February 5 at Schroeder High School.
Moorehead shot 47 percent from beyond the arc in both of Pittsford Sutherland’s wins last week to earn the Division III honor. The junior guard went 7-for-14 from the field at Batavia and 8-for-13 against Brockport (72-62). He dished six assists in the Knights’ 58-42 victory at Batavia. Between the two games, he grabbed seven boards. Sutherland is set to play Honeoye Falls-Lima at home on Wednesday, February 5.
Hartsfield started his week with a 23-point game in Odyssey’s 80-53 win over Canandaigua. The senior made five from beyond the arc, two at the line, and pulled ten rebounds to nab Division IV POTW. Hartsfield helped keep Odyssey tight with Honeoye Falls-Lima, ending in a 47-46 win for the Leopards. He went 3-for-8 from two, 4-for-6 from the line, and hit one three on his way to 15 points. Greece Odyssey travels to Pittsford Mendon on Wednesday, February 5 for a 7:15 p.m. tip.
