OHA Tardiff 2
Defenseman Ashley Messier tallied four points in Selects Academy’s 6-2 win over OHA Tardiff on Saturday with a goal and three assists. Forward Valerie Hache scored for Selects in the first period, assisted by Mia Coene. Tardiff netted one on goalie Emily Finach to keep the first period even. Selects found their footing in the second period. Ellie Marcovsky, Kirsten Simms, and Ashley Messier found the back of the net, and Valerie Hache scored twice, both times on connecting passes from Messier. Tardiff answered only once in the second period, and neither team scored in the third.

NAHA White 2
Defenseman Haley Winn nailed a clutch game winner with four minutes left to put Selects up 3-2 over NAHA White Saturday evening. Kirsten Simms gave Selects the early lead with a first-period goal. Jule Schiefer assisted on the play. Ellie Marcovsky took advantage of the power play and a look from Kirsten Simms to tally one for Selects in the second period, while NAHA White scored twice to tie the game heading into the third. Goalie Shelbi Düster held off NAHA’s attempts to get up on Selects, and Haley Winn sealed the deal late in the final minutes thanks to an assist from Ellie Marcovsky.

Selects Academy at BK 19U 4
Appleby College 1
Ellie Marcovsky once again capitalized on the power play, propelling Selects Academy to a 4-1 victory over Appleby college on Saturday. Caroline Harvey scored in the first period, connecting with Kirsten Simms. Simms, who had a hand in three of Selects’ four goals, buried the second goal of the period on a look from Kate Cascio. Appleby College scored once in the first period, but would remain quiet against Selects goalie Emily Finach for the remainder of the contest. Kirsten Simms found Laila Edwards, who netted the 3-1 goal for Selects in the second. Marcovsky’s power play goal put Selects up 4-1 ahead of the third period, assisted by Mia Coene.

NAHA Red 0
Selects allowed only seven shots on goalie Shelbi Düster, who earned the shutout in Selects’ 5-0 win over NAHA Red. Five players ended the game with two points. Caroline Harvey and Ellie Reiter each scored twice, Mary Kate O’Brien had one goal and one assist, and Valerie Hache and Kirsten Simms contributed two assists apiece. Selects’ strong defensive play minimalized scoring chances for NAHA Red, who came up empty handed.

NAHA White 6
Selects Academy at BK 19U 2
NAHA White toppled Selects, slipping 6 of their 21 shots past goalie Shelbi Düster in a 6-2 win Monday morning. Haley Winn led Selects with two points from a goal and an assist. Caroline Harvey also scored for Selects. Kirsten Simms and Mia Coene tallied an assist each.

NAHA White 4
Selects Academy at BK 16U 1
Selects Academy 16U fell to the older NAHA White team 4-1 Saturday morning. NAHA’s power play unit scored late in the first period on Selects goalie Ava McNaughton. Trouble continued for McNaughton in the second period as Selects defense couldn’t stop the aggressive NAHA, falling behind by two more goals. Selects’ Bella Vasseur finally put the squad on the board in the third period with a tip-in goal off Kiara Kraft’s shot. The effort wasn’t enough, and NAHA scored once more before the final buzzer.
Northwood 2
Selects Academy at BK 16U 0
Selects struggled to find their rhythm against another older team, failing to find the back of the net in a 0-2 loss to Northwood 19U. Selects goalie Bailey Callaway kept things close, allowing only one goal in the second period. Northwood broke past Selects’ forecheck and scored on a two-on-one. Northwood scored their second goal on an empty net late in the third as Selects pulled Callaway for an extra skater.
