WASHINGTON, D.C. – A second half outburst on offense by the University of the District of Columbia Men’s Basketball Team was enough to erase a 15 point Roberts Wesleyan lead to win the game 83-72.

The Redhawks and Firebirds each put together one good half a piece but both teams also suffered one half of poor shooting. The hosts were able to take advantage in the second half. Following a first half where Roberts shot over 50 percent from the field the second half proved to be a struggle to find the range. In the second half the Redhawks shot 10-of-28 (35.7%) from the field while connecting on just 1-of-10 (10%) from 3-point range.

UDC scored 55 points in the second half alone by shooting 60 percent from the field and hitting seven 3-pointers. 20 points of the team’s second half total came directly off turnovers by Redhawks, who committed 12 in the half.

Reggie Clark (Greece Arcadia) scored 28 points to lead the Redhawks. It was the junior’s fourth game of 25 points or more in the last six contests.

Roberts falls to 3-14 on the season and 0-6 in the East Coast Conference. Next up for the Redhawks is a home game against New York Tech on Friday at 8 p.m.
