ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women’s basketball picked up another double double by Emily Miller and rode the momentum of 27 converted points off turnovers on the way to their sixth straight win, defeating the Queens College Knights 75-65, Sunday night.
Taryn Wilson paced Roberts with 21 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a block. Miller was the second leading scorer for the Redhawks with 19 points and added 11 rebounds. Sara Nady was the third Redhawk into double digits with 15 points. The trio collectively added five steals of the teams ten which played a major key in the Roberts win.
While Roberts was first to get on the board, it was a back and forth game with teams trading points until the four minute mark in the fourth quarter tying the game up 61-61. The Redhawks went on to score 11 points in the final four minutes edging out the Knights whose efforts came up short, putting up four points.
The Redhawks were 27-for-66 (40.9%) from the field, 9-for-30 (30%) from the three point line and 12-for-13 (92.3%) for free throws.
Up next, the Redhawks are on the road at the University of the District of Columbia on Friday January 17. Tip off is set for 5:00 p.m.
