SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Amaya Williams hit a three pointer on Nottingham’s first possession and the Bulldogs did not surrender that lead as they knocked off Webster Thomas 64-46 in More Than A Game Tournament action from Onondaga Community College.

Once Nottingham opened up a double-digit lead in the second quarter, Webster Thomas was only able to cut the deficit to seven at the break. The biggest Bulldog lead in the half was a 32-21 advantage near the end of the half. The Titans were led in the first half, and all game, by senior Audrey Mack, who had nine points in the first 16 minutes.

The second half was more of the same for Nottingham, using a high volume of shots from behind the arc to create offense. When the shots weren’t falling, the Bulldogs turned up their defense and got plenty of transition buckets to put the game away. They opened up a 21-point lead during the fourth quarter and ended up cruising to victory.

Williams, the tournament MVP, led the way for Nottingham with 28 points, including six threes. Sophomore Tayahja Scott, an all-tournament team member, was the other Bulldog in double figures, notching 13 points. Junior Lauryn Withrow and junior Nazjae Howard each had eight points. Junior Tyler Thomas (3), senior Jordyn Eudell (2) and junior Zyohna Glen (2) rounded out the scoring for the victors.

Mack was another all-tournament team member and scored 16 points for Webster Thomas. Senior Abby Roetker helped out the Titans with nine points. Senior Lyndsay Cuff had five, then sophomore Mary Marrapese and junior Olivia Scott each had four. Sophomore Mady Kelly (3), senior McKayla Kardas (2), junior Abby Groff (2) and sophomore Anyanka Katz (1) all contributed to the scoring for Webster Thomas.

Webster Thomas will next be in action on Jan. 7 when it hosts Victor.
