PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph’s junior forward Taylor Funk will be sidelined indefinitely following an injury to his right hand.
Starting all seven games this season, Funk currently ranks second on the team in rebounding (5.1 rpg) and assists (16), and third in scoring (9.4 ppg).
“Taylor has an amazing spirit and deep faith life that trusts the Lord. I’m confident that he will attack this setback with an endurance and steadfastness that will return him better than ever,” said head coach Billy Lange. “Our program is about iron sharpening iron and embracing ‘The Hawk Will Never Die’ as a way of life. We look forward to others competing in Taylor’s absence.”
Saint Joseph’s is back in action on Saturday as the Hawks host Saint Francis (Pa.) at 7 p.m.
