ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women’s basketball got off to a slow start Tuesday night falling to Le Moyne College 64-43.

Le Moyne quickly took charge with three fast breaks in the first two minutes of the game and kept control outscoring the Redhawks 19 to six in the first quarter. It started to take a positive turn in the second quarter with a layup from Dimitra Gkizani followed by a three pointer by Emily Miller giving the Redhawks momentum to close the gap to a four point lead in favor of Le Moyne by the end of the third.

The final ten minutes was detrimental with the Dolphins chipping away toward a 24 point lead and the Redhawks only scoring two points until a buzzer beater by Aashlyn McKnight gave Roberts five points for the fourth quarter in comparison to the Dolphins with 22.

The women’s basketball team ended the game 18-for-59 (30.5%) from the field and 3-for-20 (15%)  from the three point line while the Dolphins were 22-for-55 (43.6%) and 11-for-13 (84.6%) from beyond the arc giving them the edge over Roberts.

Emily Miller was the only Redhawk to crack double digits scoring 13 points and having two assists and seven rebounds.

Up next, women’s basketball continues at home as they take on Lake Erie College on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
