Thursday Football Wrap: Palozzi leads Gates-Chili; Adams throws for 300 yards in Thomas win

Blake Palozzi rushed for a pair of touchdowns to lead Gates-Chili. After a first-quarter pass from Blake Siplin to Adam Williams got G-C on the board, Palozzi ran for a 50-yard touchdown in the second quarter to give G-C a 14-0 lead at halftime. Palozzi scored again halfway through the third quarter on a 61-yard scamper. Palazzo added the three extra points. The senior finished with 182 yards rushing to go with his two touchdowns. Siplin was 4-7 passing for 71 yards. Newark got on the board in the third quarter on a three-yard rushing touchdown from Tajhmere Greene.

Sophomore quarterback Eli Adams threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns on 20-for-25 passing. Tyler Langley rushed for 105 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries. Jon Talen led the Thomas defense with 13 tackles, five for a loss.

GREECE OLYMPIA/ODYSSEY 14

Sam Sheldon threw for three touchdowns to lead Athena. Aiden McDonald finished with two touchdown receptions and an interception. Daquan Perry added a touchdown catch. Athena led 16-8 at halftime.
