Brockport, NY – The College at Brockport men’s soccer team hosted Plattsburgh on Saturday for some SUNYAC competition. The Golden Eagles lost, 1-0, dropping to 6-5-1 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
This is the first loss for Brockport on its home field this season, holding a 4-1 record now at home.
Through a scoreless first half, the Green and Gold outshot the visiting Cardinals 11-3. Brockport also drew three corner kick opportunities compared to just one for its opponent.
After entering halftime with a 0-0 tie, Plattsburgh was able to find the back of the net late in the second half. The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead with less than 15 minutes left in regulation. Despite multiple chances in the final minutes of play, Brockport was unable to score the equalizer.
The Golden Eagles outshot the Cardinals 16-6 in the match. Goalkeeper Joseph Romano came up with two saves in the net.
Brockport looks to bounce back next Friday in a matchup with Buffalo State. This SUNYAC contest is set for a 4 pm start at Bob Boozer Field.
