Brockport .500 in SUNYAC play after Plattsburgh loss

Plattsburgh, NY – The College at Brockport women’s soccer team battled Plattsburgh on the road Saturday for a conference match. Brockport lost the road game, 2-1, after the Cardinals scoring late in the match.

The loss puts Brockport’s record to 6-5-1 overall and 2-2 in SUNYAC play.

Plattsburgh got on the board first with a goal in the 17th minute of the first half. In the 34th minute the Golden Eagles tied the game up at 1-1. Marissa Greiner scored her second goal of the season to even the score on the road. The game entered halftime all knotted up at 1-1.

The Cardinals would take the lead once and for all in the 85th minute, securing a 2-1 victory over the Green and Gold. Freshman goalkeeper Kayla Usborne set a new career-high with 10 saves in the match for Brockport.

The Golden Eagles are on the road again next weekend for more conference action. They travel to take on Buffalo State on Friday at 4 pm.
